Get answers from millions of real people.?
I have a valiant boiler approximately 16 years old and is oil fired forced hot water system. I am selling this property and during a home inspection the inspector noted that we need to "repair the TPR valve and install a pressure relief valve and extend it to within 6 inches of the floor". A heating guy came out and said that because it is badly corroded that it cannot be repaired and we have to replace the entire boiler and hot water heater and will cost $7000 for this. This seems crazy since it is all operational and it seems that this should be repairable...but he said it was not possible to repair. PLEASE HELP...we're going to loose the sale which is supposed to close on Tuesday!!!!
