Would it be legal to rig up a rear facing camera to record rear end collisions?

People in Houston have totaled 3 of my cars in 2 years. They totaled a 1996 Toyota Supra, a 1994 Acura NSX, and a 2001 Honda Prelude by crashing into the back end of them. Would it be legal for me to rig up a camera facing the rear of a car that would start recording when I start it up so when I do get hit I will have video evidence?
