Can somebody explain this poem to me? i really need the theme, imagery, tone and diction. thanks?

The theme seems to be returning home from war. The re-adjustment to life after having killed other humans in the insanity and nightmare that is war. The author is expressing guilt for having taken life even though it was in a war setting. The last line is cryptic but expresses the feeling of personal responsibility for the death that has been inflicted.
